About

Xin chào! My name is Madison and I was born and raised in Southern California. On July 11, 2015 I set off to live abroad for the first time. Since then I have been living in Hà Nội, Việt Nam for collectively about 1.5 years and have backpacked throughout Southeast Asia with friends, family and on my own. To think its been nearly two years since I left all that I know and completely shed my skin of consistency & normalcy, makes me so beyond proud of where I have ended up. Step out of your comfort zone because in that box you’ll never know your true capacity of LIVING.

I currently am teaching ESL to grade 1-3 at an international school in Hà Nội. Before arriving back to this managed chaos of a city, I spent 9 months motorbiking, roadtripping, busing, flying, boating and train sleeping across Southeast Asia and the US. Life’s been a wild ride since I left “the valley,” and I intend to keep it that way indefinitely. The world is too big to stay in one place.

Follow along my journey teaching English, traveling through Southeast Asia (or anywhere I stumble upon) and my experiences of daily life in a country so unique from my hometown. Enjoy!
